Politics

Department Overview

As a department, we aim to give students an insight into topical issues and political news stories. We challenge students to think, act and speak like those working in the field would do – to research thoroughly, to provide a solid argument and to have the ability to debate.

Politics helps students to explore their own beliefs and clarify them, helps them to understand individual rights and prepare them for adult life.

Politics is taught at key stage 5 over a two year course.
