Dear Parent/Carer
Dance Workshop
Your child has been selected to take part in a workshop run by the Dance department on Friday 30th September 2022. This event is run for those year 9 students that have shown exceptional potential and talent in the subject as well as a passion and enjoyment for Dance. This is a fun event that acts as a reward for all their hard work in the subject and supports their current carousel experience. The workshop will be led by a professional practitioner from MOTUS Dance company (www.motusdance.co.uk).The Dance department is covering the cost of this workshop so there is no additional cost for parents and carers.
Selected students will be taking part in a one hour Dance workshop. This will run from 10.45am to 11.45am therefore students will come to the Dance studio at 10.30am and will get changed into their dance kit ready for the workshop. All students MUST attend their normal period 1, 2, 4 & 5 periods where they are not involved in the workshop. They will need to bring in their dance kit (black t-shirt and black leggings) or their PE kit to change into. The students must also bring plenty to drink, as they will be working practically throughout the session.
This is a really exciting opportunity for your child and I hope that as many students as possible are able to participate. Additionally MOTUS run a youth dance company in Milton Keynes, MYDC, providing further opportunities for your child to work with MOTUS should your child enjoy the workshop.
Permission slips must be returned by Wednesday 28th September 2022 to confirm your child’s place. Students can return these slips to the Dance studio, in their dance lessons or in their dance extra curricular sessions.
