Trip to New Design Centre, London, Year 12 Graphics – Friday 7th July

New Designers Exhibition Friday 7th July 2023
We have the opportunity within the Graphic Design Department to take 10 year 12 students on a trip to the New Designers Exhibition in Islington. This exhibition is a showcase for newly graduated degree students across a wide range of disciplines; their work is showcased both to the public, but also to industry leaders who view and judge their work. It is nationally recognised as a focal point for an emerging generation of designers and is an inspirational opportunity for our students to see where their Graphic Design course could take them.

New Designers is an annual exhibition that brings together the best graduate design talent from across the UK. Our event is aimed at professionals in the design industry, as well as general consumers who are interested in seeing the latest trends in design. New Designers also welcomes hundreds of school students each year, inspiring the next generation of designers. Over two weeks, we showcase the work of over 3,000 talented graduates in a range of disciplines, including textiles, graphics, product design, and more.
The details for the trip are as follows:
Event: New Designers (https://www.newdesigners.com/)
Date: Friday 7th July 2023
Location: Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London, N1 0QH. (Link to Google Maps)
Cost: £33 (unless your child receives free school meals this is free) – This covers the cost of the ticket for the day (£10), and the cost of the coach for transport (£23).
Times: Depart Biddenham School at 8.30am (Please meet in T7 at 08:00 and we will register you) Arriving back at Biddenham at 4pm.
Food: Your child would need to bring a packed lunch as they would not be able to leave the site to access local shops (free school meals students can collect their packed lunch from the canteen prior to departure). There is a cafe on site, but I would recommend not using this due to the cost and time available.
Uniform: Your child will not be required to wear uniform for this trip but should dress appropriately.
As your child receives free school meals there will be no cost for them to attend the trip, however, please log into your ParentPay account to give parental consent (before the end of June).
