UKCA National Schools Cheer and Dance Championships
As I am sure you are aware, your child is part of the competitive cheerleading squad at Biddenham. The squad have been entered into the UKCA National Schools Cheer and Dance Championships on Sunday 16th June 2024 at Belle Vue Sports Village, Kirkmanshulme Lane, Belle Vue, Manchester M12 4TF.
We need to be at the competition venue by 10.00am and we expect to finish at 4.30pm. We will be leaving school at 6.30am and returning to Biddenham at approximately 8.00pm (traffic permitting).
Students will be traveling to Belle Vue Sports Village by school minibus. It is important that arrangements have been made with you in regards to how your child will travel home from school.
The competition will be judged by a panel of cheerleading experts and trophies and awards will be presented at the end of the day. In addition there may be some media coverage of the events and official photographs may be taken for the event websites. The school has paid for all the entries so it is completely free of charge for all students.
Important Information
Please ensure your child has sufficient food and drink for the day. It will be a very long day for the students and they need their energy to perform! However please avoid sweets and sugary drinks as we want to avoid any sugar crashes and ensure the team can perform to the best of their ability. No jewellery must be worn to the competitions. It is banned by the event organisers and our squad will have valuable points deducted for any item they spot. This includes all body piercings.
Please can you also make sure that if your child suffers from travel sickness that they bring the appropriate medication with them. Please make sure they have taken it at the recommended time before we start our journey.
