Exam board change for Business Studies

We are writing to inform you of a development in the Business Studies curriculum for our Year 9 students. After careful consideration and with the aim of providing an even more enriching learning experience, we have decided to transfer from the BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise to the Edexcel GCSE in Business.

This decision was made with the best interests of our students in mind, and we believe that the Edexcel course in Business will offer a more comprehensive and rigorous educational experience, fostering greater learning and achievement for our students.

The GCSE curriculum covers a wider range of topics, allowing students to explore various aspects of Business Studies, including finance, marketing, operations, and human resources. 

The assessment structure of the Edexcel GCSE 9-1 in Business includes 2 written exams which will be assessed at the end of Y11:

Paper 1: Investigating Small Business

• 50% of the total GCSE

Paper 2: Building a Business

• 50% of the total GCSE
