Castleton Residential – Parents Information Evening

Castleton Residential Trip 15th-17th November

Dear Parent/Carer,

The Castleton residential trip is fast approaching and a parent information evening is being held on Monday 6th November from 6.00-6.30pm in the Main Hall. Please come to the main reception where the event will be signposted. The purpose of this evening is to go over the final details of the trip and answer any questions you may have.

It is really important that any medical needs have been outlined on parent pay, this should have been completed when you signed up for the trip, however if there have been any changes please let me know.

Here is the expected itinerary for the trip:

Wednesday 15th November Thursday 16th November  Friday 17th November
08.00  – Arrive at Biddenham, meet in the quad

 

08.20 – Depart Biddenham

 

11.45/12 – Arrive at YHA Castleton

 

12.30-13.00 – Lunch brought from home

 

13.30 – 17.00 – Village Study and the Hats Game

 

17.00 – 19.00 – Settle into rooms and dinner

 

19.00 – 20.00 – Gem panning/fossil making

07.30 – 08.30 – Breakfast

 

09.00 – 12.30 – Three Rocks Walk

 

12.30-13.30 – Lunch break

 

13.30 – 15.00 – Treak Cliff Cavern Tour

 

15.30 – 16.00 – Three Rocks Walk

17.00 – 19.00 – Dinner break

 

19.00 – 20.00 – Fossil making/gem panning

 

20.00 – 21.00 – Free time

07.30-09.00 – Breakfast and emptying rooms, stripping bedding

 

09.00-10.30 – Fire lighting/shelter building

 

11.30-12.30 – Shelter building/fire lighting

 

10.30 – 12.30 – Morning workshop

 

12.30 – 13.00 – packed lunch provided by hostel and departure

 

16.30 – Estimate ETA of arrival at Biddenham School, students will be told to notify parents/carers when we are 30 minutes from arrival.

Students will be required to bring the following items:

Electrical items may be brought on the coach for entertainment but are the responsibility of the student. We do not accept any responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items.

Students may also bring spending money for the gift shop (suggested amount £10-£15) as well as money for additional food items.
